Cefpodoxime 200 mg + Clavulanic acid 125 mg
Zoypod-CV-325 A brand of Cefpodoxime and Clavulanic acid combination are effective against multiple infections. The pharmacological action of Clavulanic acid prevents hydrolysis of Cefpodoxime against beta-lactamase secreting microbes and increases the antibiotic spectrum.
Cefpodoxime 200mg Tablet is a broad-spectrum antibiotic used to treat a variety of infections caused by bacteria like pneumonia, sinusitis, cystitis and ear infections. Cefpodoxime Tablet works by inhibiting the bacterial cell wall synthesis. This medicine is not recommended for use in case of common cold, flu or viral infections since it is active against infections caused by bacteria only. Use of this medicine in infants less than 2 months of age is not recommended.
Clavulanic acid is a β-lactam drug that functions as a mechanism-based β-lactamase inhibitor. While not effective by itself as an antibiotic, when combined with penicillin-group antibiotics, it can overcome antibiotic resistance in bacteria that secrete β-lactamase, which otherwise inactivates most penicillins.
