Chlorhexidine Gluconate 0.1 % Mouthwash
This medicine is used along with regular tooth brushing in the treatment of gum disease, bleeding gums or gingivitis. It belongs to the antimicrobials class of drugs and work by reducing bacterial infection in the mouth with decreasing bleeding and swelling during brushing. Use this mouthwash twice a daily, usually after brushing (as suggested by the doctor). Use approx 15 milliliters of mouth wash with measuring cup provided with solution and swish for 30 seconds in mouth and spit out. Do not swallow the medicine and use it as per your doctor’s suggestion.
Side Effects– Tooth staining, throat irritation or dry mouth may occur. To remove staining, brush regularly with a toothbrush. Inform your doctor and dentist for a tooth cleaning or at least every 6 months.
Precautions– Before taking this medicine, inform your doctor if you are allergic to it or if you have allergies to any inactive ingredients. Inform your doctor about your medical history such as veneers, dental crowns. Inform your doctor, if you are pregnant or planning for pregnancy. Consult your doctor before breastfeeding.
