Additionally this medicine prevents the viruses spreading into other parts of body for serious infections of people with weak immune system.
Take this medicine as prescribed by your doctor usually two to five times daily. You can take this medicine with food or without food as dosage is given based on your medical history and condition. While using the liquid form of medicine, take each dosage after carefully measuring from measuring spoon. Children are given this medicine as per their age and weight. Take regularly at the same time until prescription is finished. Do not stop even if symptoms disappear, it can return the infection again.
Side Effects
Following side effect may occur with the use of given medications
Headaches, vomiting, nausea, diarrhea, dizziness, drowsiness or sign of kidney problem may occur. Inform your doctor immediately, if you feel any of the given side effects worsen. Your doctor has prescribed this medicine because he judged that benefits of this medicine are more than the risk of side effects. Many patients are not feeling any side effects while using this medication. Tell your doctor right away if you observe any new sign of side effects such as tiredness, irregular heartbeat, stomach, seizure, rash or vertigo.
Precautions
Before taking this medicine, inform your doctor if you have any allergies of valacyclovir or if you have allergies to any inactive ingredients. If you have medical history of weakened immune system, kidney problems or HIV diseases then inform your doctor or pharmacist. It can cause a condition of dizziness or blur vision so do not drive or do any activity that requires attention or alertness. Children and older adults are more sensitive to this drug. Use this drug during pregnancy only when needed and consult the doctor before breast feeding.
