Povidone-Iodine 5% w/w +Ornidazole 1% w/w Ointment

The combination of this medicine is used in the treatment of bacterial infections. Ornidazole is an antibiotic medicine. It can damage the DNA of bacteria and hence kills them with other harmful micro organism. Povidone is a type of antiseptic medicine, used on the infected skin. It can prevent the growth of microorganism by releasing iodine, which kills them.

Wash your hands before using this medicine. Apply at clean and affected area and gently rub as per direction given by doctor, usually twice a day. Length of treatment is depends on the infection type. Wash your hands after application and do not cover affected area with anything unless prescribed by doctor. Use regularly at the same time until prescription is finished. Do not stop applying even if symptoms disappear, it can return the infection again. Do not apply this medicine at the sensitive parts of the body as mouth, eyes or private parts

Side Effects– Dry skin, mild burning, irritation, itching and redness may occur. Inform your doctor immediately, if you feel any of the given side effects. Remember your doctor has prescribed this medicine because he judged that benefits of this medicine are more than the risk of side effects. Many patients are not feeling any side effects while using this medication.
