Clobetasol propionate

This medicine is used in the treatment of many skin conditions such as dermatitis, psoriasis, rash, etc. It can reduce different skin problems such as itching and redness. It belongs to a group of medicine called a corticosteroid.

This medicine is strictly useful for skin only. Wash your hands before using this medicine. Apply small amount of ointment at a clean and affected area or skin; gently rub as per the direction given by the doctor. Do not cover or wrap the area unless directed by the doctor. Length of treatment depends on the infection type. It should be used twice a day or suggested by the doctor. Wash your hands after application. Use regularly at the same time until the prescription is finished. Do not stop applying even if symptoms disappear, it can return the infection again. Do not apply this medicine at the sensitive parts of the body as mouth, nose, eyes or private parts.

Side Effects- Mild burning, irritation, dryness, itching, redness, stinging or scaling may occur. Inform your doctor immediately, if you feel any of the given side effects such as hair bumps, dizziness, swelling, headache, acne or skin thinning. Remember your doctor has prescribed this medication because he judged that the benefits of this medicine are more than the risk of side effects. Many patients are not feeling any side effects while using this medication.

Salicylic Acid

It is used in the skin treatment of psoriasis and other scaly conditions. It is also used to remove dead skin from warts and it belongs to the salicylates class of drugs. It should not be used or children younger than 2 years. Salicylic acid increases the moisture in the skin and causes the skin to shed dead cells by dissolving the layer between cells. This process makes the top layer of skin is softer and decreases dryness and scaling.

Side Effects- Mild burning, irritation, dryness, itching, redness or peeling skin may occur. People with kidney problems and children less than 12 years of age are at more risk. Inform your doctor immediately, if you feel any of the given side effects such as nausea, dizziness, hearing problems, headache, swelling, tiredness or breathing trouble. Remember your doctor has prescribed this medication because he judged that the benefits of this medicine are more than the risk of side effects. Many patients are not feeling any side effects while using this medication.
