Nimesulide 100 mg Mouth Dissolving tablet
Non steroidal anti-inflammatory drug with minimal gastric side effects has some selectivity for Cox-2 than Cox-1. In addition to inhibition of prostaglandin synthesis, It also reduces generation of superoxide by neutrophils, inhibits PAF synthesis, inhibits TNE and inhibits proteinase activity in cartilage, thus preventing breakdown of osteoarthritic human cartilage.
Osteoarthritis, dysmenorrhoea, rheumatoid, arthritis, low back pain, dysmenorrhoea, dental pain, post operative pain, trauma.
GI bleed, peptic ulcer, hepatic dysfunction, pregnancy, lactation.
Reduce dose in elderly, renal dysfunction, heart failure.
Epigastralgia, heartburn, nausea, loose motions, rash, pruritus, somnolence, dizziness.
100 mg twice a day. Children: 5 mg/kg/day in two or three divided dose.
Indications
Pain, fever
Analgesic nephropathy.
Renal and hepatic impairment.
Epigastric distress, nausea, rashes, leukopenia is rare.
Dosage
Adults : 0.5-1.0gm. 3-6 times daily maximum 4gm.
Children : 15mg/kg/dose or 60 mg/kg/24 hours divided every 6 hours. Maximum 5 doses SOS (each dose -0-0 months – 40mg, 4-11 months -80mg, 1-6 years 120-240 mg., 6-12 years 220-480mg. Max. 5 doses/24 hours.
